Workshop Testimonials

Having spent the day with MCGILLICUDDY, he makes the whole complicated subject of lighting fairly simple providing you thinking about what you are looking to achieve first and work backwards. Great life stories - it felt like, An audience with... rather than a masterclass.

Aron

I would like to say that these two masterclasses were a complete and utter waste of time and I did not learn anything at all. Unfortunately that would be a lie :) Having now been to Mr McGillicuddy's classes I can honestly say it is the best £320 I spent since one night many years ago in Amsterdam...but thats a different story.

Having watched Damian I wonder where the 40% magician comes into the equation...he gives away all of our secrets, something no self respecting magician would ever do.

Just returned home form Damian McGillicuddus Masterclass in manchester. And what a masterclass, it was immensely educational ,entertaining and interesting, we were challenged to not only step out of the box, but leap out with both feet and without a backward glance!!! It was the most exciting thing photographically that I have experienced in years. I am excited to think what I might be able to do with this "secret new knowledge" that is worth every penny of the masterclass fee. If you want to be challenged and move up a gear (or two) don't hesitate next time the opportunity arises, book a place and you too could be the owner of this exciting "new knowledge'

Went to the McGillicuddy thing, had a great day and learned alot. He did a cracking job despite the disfortunitous circumstances preceeding today. The masterclass is highly recommended to anyone at any level and I now even understan quantum theory.

Now I have experienced the Masterclass I know I did the right thing in postponing my trip to The Philippines by a week.

MMOS days - Of all the money spent on photography, MMOS has without doubt been the best. After two and a half years of self teaching, I was at an impass. I was frustrated, confused and struggling to step upto the next level, I was close to giving up. I didnt know why I couldnt progress. I figured that training was money better spent than on gear, and so looked what I could find within my budget. Within weeks of joining the SWPP I submitted for mentor me and found it useful but not as much as I had hoped. I then saw MMOS advertised and signed up.   At the first session Damian imparted his philosophy on photography and I found myself agreeing with his vision. He taught us some critique techniques which have served me incredibly well ever since. Just by looking at my work and me, he could somehow see where I was in my photographic journey. He knew exactly where I was without me telling him and seemed to know how to move me past that.  His passion and love of the art of photography is undeniable and its infectious. I felt inspired and more than capable.   In the digital age, in a world full of info, its easy to self teach and assume that is enough. However as I have learnt self teaching had left me missing many of the fundamentals of photography. Photography seems to have forgotten its roots, and many are missing the foundation of the art I certainly was. Every MMOS session I attend, I have numerous light bulb moments , where something I was missing is imparted , and then everything else starts to slot into place. When I look back to 6 months ago, I was ready to quit and give it up as a wishful dream. After each session I feel more and more equipped to be a professional photographer, as well as inspired. Last but not least, I feel determined to improve to make Damian proud that his time was well spent training us.  I now find myself doing thing differently and the results are better for it. I suddenly have lots more photography friends suddenly want to be involved in my work and I can only assume they want to understand why my work has suddenly improved and do that too. I tell them where I made the leap and its MMOS.                                                                                                                                                                 Thankyou to Damian aka "The Big Dog", Lesley and his wonderful models.

Really enjoyed the session damian, what a good venue, It made it very good with the banter along with your technique for us to grill you as much as we could to gleen the info.... Although the camera seemed to be switched off everytime you showed me the back of it lol.

MMOS

Having been on several "mmos" and a "Polish your portfolio" oh and "Beer with the Big Dog" i thought i should post an exciting update, as excited and inspired as i am from your teachings today for me the icing on the cake when i met with a local photographer, he has been a photographer since the mid 80's so has a few good years experience behind him. Imagine my surprise when he said how wonderful my lighting is and can he pick my brian!! you could have knocked me down with a feather! however i cant take the credit, the credit falls squarely at the feet of Damian McGillicuddy and his honest, inspirational way of teaching. Thank you for your passion to make better photographers and your integrity to give a whole lesson and leaving nothing out.

The Art of the Nude

Pleasure and privilege to be one of the delegates at 'Odd Fellows' yesterday (27/05/10) .I've done various days with Damian on MMOS days and so I went along to 'The Art of the Nude' day. I personally would highly recommend going to one of these days. Very inspiring and fantastic experience full of essential information that he so easily explains and guides you throughout the day. It all becomes apparent that there is no mystery or magic formula and its simply knowing your intentions, getting it right in camera. I don't look back now. Special thanks from me.

The Art of the Nude

Ditto to what Sharon said - I too was at the 'Odd Fellows' day to cement what I'd learnt at my previous 1-on-1. A fantastic day, great company, 2 beautiful models, gorgeous lunch, oh, and some cracking photography hints, tips, teaching and inspiration thrown in too. It sure beats work. Cheers to Damian, Ian, Christiane and Charlie for such a valuable. A bargain at twice the price!

MMOS

I stand by every word, a brilliant day and invaluable training. Thanks for running MMOS long may it continue. Its brilliant to see a behind the scenes shot. A friend just looked at your photograph and was astounded that the shots we took were not only with speedlites, but outdoors in broad daylight as well!

The Art of the Nude

I had a fantastic day Damian! Thank you I don't know what I'd do without your educating me x

Amanda

I'd just like to tell everyone who reads this that if they really want to learn to take better photographs then go on training with Damian. I wasted an awful lot of money before I found out about Damian. Since then I class every penny I spend with him as a bargain. Keep up the good work.

Mark S

Couldn't agree more - I attended the Learn to Earn workshop last week, which was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to try out all the techniques I learnt (just waiting for my gear to arrive). Damian is clearly a master at his craft - just look at his SOOC shots (pretty intimidating stuff) - and attending any of his courses is a fantastic investment. Plus he's pretty funny too.:)

Thanks Damian and Lesley for an awesome day. Hope to be able to attend more courses once I'm back in the country.

Cheers

Wani

Training with Damian and Lesley is great, its the most fun learning ive ever had and education has become addictive. The more courses/seminars you do/go on, the more courses you want to go on. (hope that makes sense lol) cu guys thursday for Mini Light-Maximum Effect workshop. Cheers or as damian would say ttfn Bryan he he

Bryan Elliott

McGillicuddy training? In 1 word, BRILLIANT. Everything about my photography has improved 300%. A great return for not a lot of money. Keep rolling Big Dog !!

Photo Phil

I used to think Damians training was great value for money. Top training with a top top photographer. Now that he has reduced all of the prices it's almost like stealing all the knowledge from the master :0)

CameraGirl

I used to think Damian was reassuringly expensive- like M&S or Waitrose, but now he's dropped his prices I have a dilema - I want the quality, but deep down I know I should pay extra for this. It doesn't feel right paying so little for so much!

Mini Lights Maximum Effect

If your someone looking to learn how to use speedlights to best effect then this workshop is ideal. It's great to learn from someone so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his photography and he'll definately inspire you to go out and shoot.

Get in the car and get up there - it's a long way but well worth it!

Bridal Boudoir and Portraiture

Do I have attended many training courses but this one left me very inspired and eager to put into practise what I learnt. I honestly believe this to be superior in terms of presentation , content and value for money

Bridal Boudoir and Portraiture

I think the course is well worth attending and would whole heartedly recommend anyone thinking of going on one to do it. (Unless of course they live and work near me)!

Bridal Boudoir and Portraiture

I would tell them it would be quite simply the best money they could invest in their photography business

Andrew Corke.

Bridal Boudoir and Portraiture

Damian is clearly a master of his profession and is very willing and able to pass on his knowledge and experience to anyone keen to learn. I thought the class was informative, enjoyable and will hopefully be implementing some/all of the techniques in my own business as soon as possible. Thanks for a great day.

Jeremy Moss.
