Its a real eye opener as to what the little light can produce, so simple once you know how. Damian explains things in a fun but very clear way and by showing you what can be achieved stage by stage in practical sessions throughout the day. It's a first class course delivered by a first class instructor and team.

Would thoroughly recommend it. Learned so ugh and was surprised by how down-to-earth the members of team McGillicuddy were. I was expecting to be like a fish out of water but the way things were conveyed was really well pitched. I always think you can tell how good someone is at something by how easy they make it seem.

For those starting out in newborn photography I would recommend this course not only for posing techniques but also for lighting techniques I never thought of

I feel more confident about light and not to be afraid of my speedlight!!! I hope to actually enjoy using it because the outcome can be spectacular. Its definitely about quality and not quantity. I feel really inspired and I really want to try and make myself better than my competitors.

In an industry flooded with training opportunities this course stood head and shoulders as being based on sold experience, real passion photography and a genuine desire to improve our industry. In addition it was also unbelievably good value for money.

LISTEN TO THE BIG DOG - HIS BARK IS IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTIVE AND INTERESTING!

If you want to spend more time taking pictures and less time in front of your computer correcting the results of the rather average pictures you did take, go on this course. If you want to stand out from the crowd of average wedding photographers go on this course. If you want to delight your Brides and have them as clients forever go on this course. It is well worth the money, the travel time and the cost of fuel. Its an outstanding experience , excellent value and really helpful for learning how to improve the standard and consistency of images.

As well as being very informative, it is a really enjoyable day relaxed and fun. Damian is great company and I met some lovely people. The balance of chat and activity was just right. Money well spent. It is comforting to know that the fee is not what motivates Damian to run these training days and I could feel confident that I was learning from a master.

Damian has been given the title of 'lighting wizard' for a reason and his knowledge of not only this, but of photography itself shone throughout the day. His style of teaching is very down to earth and easy to follow making sure everyone in the workshop understands the processes being shown before moving on. With a light hearted personality he kept everyone smiling and was a pleasure to be around! I certainly look forward to the next investment i will no doubt be making on a Damian McGillicuddy workshop.

I have been photographing professionally for 25 years and I have attended many events and courses over the years. Many have proved to be very poor in communicating the content and very bad value for money. These courses always tend to be led by the photographers who are in fashion and considered to be the leading lights of the industry. They charge a lot and seem to just wish to make as much cash as possible, there is nothing wrong in that.

Damian is different , he genuinely wishes to communicate the techniques but also the reasoning behind them so as to improve the standards of the industry. I found the course stimulating my thought processes and will be reinforcing by practice and is capable of being extended to create my own style.

An excellent day where I learned so much to allow me to take my bridal portraits to another level. The McGillicuddy team were very helpful and more than happy to pass on their extensive knowledge. If you want to have an excellent days shooting whilst learning so much about light, posing and making the most of a location then this course is a must.
